Bespoke Stone

Your way by our masons. Stone is one of earth’s natural treasures which is why every piece is unique. Working with stone is a specialist skill which has been handed down from generation to generation by expert masons, all with individual character which is reflected in their incredible works. EDGE PROFILES

The perfect edge profile is the focal point and the ‘finishing touch’ to a beautiful garden. The collection of standard profiles from the classic bullnose to the minimalistic single pencil radius or the rugged hand dressed edge will define the external edges of coping, steps, seats and plinths and are often the signature of renowned designers. The style of the garden will be clearly visible with one or more of these refined profiles masterfully applied by skilled masons.

FINISHES

The look and feel of stone can be transformed by the surface finish. We are proud of our wide variety of finishes, many of which have been perfected by hand and created to suit every application and the style of the setting they are placed. We love working with bespoke requirements and our teams always have a steady stream of ‘special works’. Our specialist helpful team of consultants can advise the best suited finish for your project and can guide you as required to find the perfect stone surface.

Etched; The face of the stone is glass-etched to create an anti slip finish; perfect for wet areas. The process gives a muted appearance that gives it a more contemporary feel.

Sawn; This is the finish left by the diamond cutting process of the stone which gives a contemporary look and feel.

Bespoke Stone with Worn Surface Finish

Worn; The result of an intensive process where the edges of the stone are hand chipped and the surface of the stone is worked, exposing an open-grain surface. This creates a ‘foot worn’ look and feel.

Bespoke Natural Stone with Washed Stone Finish

Washed; A gently textured finish that portrays the effect of atmospheric deposition. This finish often enriches the surface tone and brings out the character, making it a very forgiving finish.

Bespoke Stone with Honed Surface

Honed; The sawn surface of the stone is sanded by machine to remove any saw marks left behind by the cutting process.

Brushed; The stone undergoes a high pressure mechanical process which etches and brushes the surface, leaving a softened feel while enriching the colour.

Bespoke Stone with Riven Surface Finish

Riven; The stone is naturally split along the strata of the stone which is a traditional surface that will vary from stone to stone.

Bespoke Stone with Weathered Finish

Weathered; This is unique a process that is applied to a riven stone by hand or machine, the natural undulations of the surface are ground off to create the effect of a ‘weathered’ look.

Bespoke Natural Stone with Antique Surface Finish

Antique; Unique to Allgreen, this finish has heavily tumbled edges and a tarnished surface finish to give the stone a rugged, reclaimed look.

Bespoke Stone with Flamed Finish

Flamed; This finish uses a high temperature flame and evaporation process, which adds an extra dimensioin to the stone as well as offering an anti slip finish.

Accuracy and finest attention to detail is captured by our laser scanning capabilities providing you with peace of mind and millimetre precision. Our Specialist Site Survey Team are highly trained professionals and will create scaled & coded templates over photographic images to form working drawings in CAD importable files for further design as required. Rely on our provision of detailed working & installation drawings is truly industry leading in accuracy whilst greatly minimising installation time.

 

TREATMENT &
PROTECTION

Stone is an incredible natural resource and has been used in building & construction for centuries. Our stones are rigorously tested to British Standards for suitability for use as exterior paving, cobbles & setts, walling & cladding and do not require treatment or protection to be used for these purposes. The benefit of advanced Protection of Stone is something we are passionate about particularly in areas of high traffic or areas prone to staining from accidental food & alcohol spills.

The general wear & tear from pets, family or natural weathering including algae growth is something which our stone can be protected from and we offer a range of invisible, colour enhancing & colour restoring UK made, professional, proven protection products. These can be applied by our trained Pre-Treatment Teams in a controlled environment before the stone is delivered to your project or supplied to our Trust Treatment Contractors to be applied post installation.

We offer a full range of Stone Cleaning Products which cover General Cleaning to Rust & Tanin Removal which are 100% compatible with our suite of Protection Products providing an end to end Treatment & Maintenance Care Plan.
